Honey Tasting & Wine

Did you know that without honeybees, over a third of our global food supply would disappear? Even Albert Einstein once projected that if the bee disappears from the surface of the earth, man would have no more than four years to live.

I had a very broad understanding of the situation after seeing Häagen-Dazs' "Help the Honey Bees" campaign. However, I had no idea to what extent that it was occurring. Vanishing of the Bees is an eye-opening documentary that explores the mysterious disappearance phenomenon known as Colony Collapse Disorder, which has been happening all over the world. The directors are currently re-editing their film for the US market and are looking to raise funds. S and I decided to attend their NYC fundraiser to show our support. As a reward, we were able to taste some extraordinarily delicious and unique honeys from around the world. My favorite being a white creamed honey. We also tried some honey wine (mead), which was a first for me. The best part was actually being able to watch some selects from the film.
